Download the map around every saved place so it works with no signal at all: on a plane, underground, or somewhere the map servers are unreachable. Do this before you fly.

Opening hours

Hours are stored on each place permanently, so this is a one-off per place. Run it before you travel and the planner keeps working even where Google is unreachable.

New trip
The dates bound the planner: the day picker will not wander outside them, and Auto-plan defaults to the whole trip. Leave them blank for an open-ended wishlist.
Settings
Unlocks three things: opening hours + coordinates from a place name, the Discover search, and real door-to-door travel times. Stored only in this browser. Enable Places API (New) and Routes API in Google Cloud, and restrict the key to your own referrer.
Google's matrix covers drive and walk. Transit always falls back to the estimate, since the matrix endpoint does not support it.

Exchange rate
Rates from the European Central Bank daily reference set via frankfurter.app. No key, no tracking. These are mid-market rates: your card will land a little worse, and an airport counter far worse.
